The Flemish Caledonian Society was founded in Ghent in 1977. It is a non-profit association, which pursues to consolidate and develop the cultural bonds with Scotland.

With this in mind, the Flemish Caledonian Society organizes all kinds of activities, which somehow are related to Scotland (such as the by now well-known Scottish Fair).

Within the Society the following subgroups are active:
- Country dancers
- Irish dancers
- Highland dancers

A review, published monthly gives the members all sorts of information on Scotland,
and keeps them informed of coming events.
